A typical drive from Belapur to Gateway of India could take anywhere between 1.5 to 2 hours. The water taxi will cover the distance in one hour at a speed of up to 15-16 knots, significantly reducing the travel time for daily commuters.
This 126 km long 14-Jane corridor linking Virar to Alibaug will ensure faster access to Mumbai from important national highways and facilitate the diversion of traffic from urban agglomeration and thereby reducing congestion/pollution.
